A saving station since 1944.

For more than eighty years, Christ Temple has opened its doors in Westland so that men, women and children might enter the Kingdom of God — and find a church family that cares for the whole person.

Our mission

Everyone may enter in.

Our mission is to be a saving station in which men, women, and children, regardless of race, lineage or nationality, have the opportunity to enter the Kingdom of God according to the Bible Gospel Plan of Salvation.

Furthermore, our mission is to provide some of the various life-supporting physical and natural needs to our fellow man for the promotion of their well-being in the communities God has called us to serve.

We believe

The Bible Gospel Plan of Salvation.

We believe in the plan of salvation found in the Scriptures (John 3:5, John 3:16 and Acts 2:38): that God so loved the world that He gave His Son, and that every person must be born again of the water and of the Spirit.

Christ Temple Apostolic Church of Westland is a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (P.A.W.) and the P.A.W. Northern District Council.

The current sanctuary

Under the leadership of Elder Ware, the current sanctuary was built and completed in 1988. Elder Ware was promoted to the office of District Elder shortly afterward, faithfully supported by his wife, First Lady Sister Della Mae Ware.

1996August 21

A new pastor

Due to recurring illness, District Elder Ware was officially retired under the direction of Diocesan Bishop Harry Herman. That same day, Assistant Pastor Elder Luke A. McClendon, Jr. was unanimously elected Pastor by the Christ Temple church family.

Elevated to Suffragan Bishop

Pastor McClendon was elevated to the office of Suffragan Bishop, and in March 2022 was named Assistant Chairman of the P.A.W. Northern District Council.

Today

Carrying on the work

By the help of the Lord, the support of his wife, Pastor Pamela McClendon, and the Christ Temple church family, Suffragan Bishop McClendon is striving to carry on and further expand this great work begun in 1944.
